oliver

This sweet boy loves picking things in the garden, being outside, his momma, and hot tea. Yep he drinks tea and it's the sweetest thing hearing his little voice ask for it.
I love the personality that comes through when you shoot in someone's space with them. We never would have thought to shoot Oli drinking tea but since I was just there when he asked for it, I captured that quirky sweet thing for them to remember. There are more hidden perks to shooting in home than I could ever express. There is so much authenticity there.

august

Sweet August turned two this fall. We documented his fun personality at his grandparent's farm. I love this session because of his wonder and the playfulness of every photo. (his amazing outfit helps too) Allowing little ones to wander and explore will always make for a better session and happier kiddo. Plus we get more expressions and backgrounds then we could have ever achieved with our grown up ideas. ;)

ashley + kevin

This intimate wedding cradled in the Rockies was a dream. A mountain wedding has been on my bucket list for a few years, so when Ashley inquired I was giddy. Through the whole planning process it just got more and more perfect. From the carriage ride to their priorities being scenic couple portraits, we were a perfect fit. Ashley and Kevin and their families were so gracious and welcoming. We really felt like we were part of this day in such a beautiful way. My husband, Tyler, second shot for me so about half of these shots are his! He really got into it due to the gorgeous scenery. So many good things from this wedding!

harvey family

Mandy, Mark, Amelia & Owen. These four made my whole month.
This session is in my top favorites and has painted a perfect picture of what I want my work to feel and look like. I love love love the playfulness, the comfort and the imperfections. The genuine human interaction. This we carry with us through all of our days, I am sure of it. This love and warmth, this belonging. Be still, my heart.

I walked into their home and they were gracious and warm and then went right back to their business. This was a DREAM for me because real life is my goal. Not perfect life, not posed life- the feeding your kid breakfast and putting the baby to sleep life. This is what we will remember; exchanges and interactions, love and kindness and patience. Parenthood and childhood aren’t perfect. Why should we try to make it look that way? Isn’t there more beauty in the reality of it all? I find more beauty there. I hope you can see it too.

the lovely dalys

I just love the Dalys. I was thrilled when they invited me into their adorable home to capture this season with their sweet baby girl, Harriet. (HarryLou- so cute!) I had a feeling that they would be my ideal client for family stories, and the minute I walked through their front door I knew I was so right. Relaxed and welcoming, they created the space for me to ‘do my thing’ in. I hardly had to guide them or remind them to ignore me and get absorbed in their family, they are just so in love with that baby. It was a blast to be immersed in and capture their family dynamic on a slow Sunday morning.
